Every housewife has her own secrets that help create real culinary masterpieces from seemingly simple recipes. Even when preparing ordinary beef meatballs in a double boiler, each one uses its own tricks to help speed up and simplify the cooking process:

  1. When preparing meatballs with rice, boil it first. This way the meatballs will turn out much juicier, and the cooking process will be reduced by 2 times.
  2. When steaming meatballs, place side dish or vegetables on the bottom tier. The juice from the meat will drain and soak the second dish, making it more juicy and flavorful. You can do the same with vegetables by placing them on the top tier. In this case, the meat will be soaked in vegetable juice.
  3. When preparing minced meat, do not skimp on spices. They will not only make future meatballs fragrant and tasty, but will also speed up the fat burning process.
  4. If you don't have a steamer, you can use a regular saucepan and colander. Simply pour the required amount of water into the pan, place a colander on top and place the meatballs in it. Cover with a lid.
  5. If you add greens and onions to the minced meat, this trick will definitely come in handy. Finely chop the greens and freeze. Add to the minced meat not defrosted. This will make the dish more juicy and tender.
  6. Make minced meat in which vegetables will predominate (this will significantly reduce the cooking time), form meatballs and freeze them. That's all. Now all you have to do is take out the dish at the right time and put it in the slow cooker for 15 minutes.

Every housewife has many secrets that help her create culinary miracles. By listening to them, you can also learn how to cook quickly and tasty, with a minimum of effort.

Steamed meatballs- a great alternative to cutlets. The same minced meat, but a slightly different presentation and shape, and the dish already seems much more interesting. You can make meatballs from any minced meat - chicken, pork, mixed. This time I chose beef - this way the meatballs turn out to be completely low-fat, and are excellent for both baby food and the GBC diet.

As for cereals, the classic of the genre is, of course, rice. It contains a lot of starch, its binding ability is no worse than that of an egg, so meatballs cooked on rice always keep their shape well even without the addition of bread or flour. But there are other cooking options. Some housewives add buckwheat and semolina. Some people add pearl barley, which was cooked in advance, while others try to experiment with other cereals or just vegetables.

Still, meatballs with rice, in my opinion, are the most delicious and familiar. You can cook them in sauces, or you can make any of the sauces separately - bechamel, tomato, or mushroom, and serve with meatballs. They will also be good with plain sour cream, sour cream with a spoon of ketchup. In general, this is a fairly simple dish, which will require you to spend less time than cutlets, and the result will be good. Read more: Spaghetti with shrimp recipes with photos.

I don’t use any flour or any spices to make meatballs - roots are quite enough, especially if you are cooking for children. If only for yourself, then you can make the meatballs whatever you want - hot, tender, spicy, with paprika and chili, with garlic and herbs. If you are cooking for children, it is better to use fresh or frozen herbs, as well as carrots, onions, garlic or celery as flavorings. Moreover, I encourage you to try the meatballs steamed in a slow cooker. It’s not only tasty and healthy, it’s also simple, and there will be much fewer calories in the dish.

Ingredients:

  • Beef – 300 grams
  • Carrot - 1 small size (50 grams)
  • Boiled rice - 200 grams
  • Greens - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Egg - 1 piece

Instructions:

  1. In order to cook steamed meatballs, you will need to boil the rice in advance - the fact is that it won’t have time to cook by steaming, so you can’t do without pre-cooking. Of course, there are recipes that use raw rice, which is pre-soaked, but a lot also depends on the type of rice. If you have basmati, which takes 12 minutes to cook, then you can try to take a risk, but it’s not worth it. The most common polished long-grain rice needs to be boiled, and the same goes for round rice.
  2. As for meat, you can grind the beef into a meat grinder yourself, or you can take ready-made minced beef. In order for the meatballs to be more flavorful, you will need to add a little greenery to them. You don’t need to add any spices, just salt, pepper, and a little garlic.
  3. Add carrots. I often have carrots grated and frozen, because I don’t always have time for full cooking. And so, if you have time, you can grate the carrots, put them in a bag, put them in the refrigerator, and cut off as many as you need later. Of course, you can use fresh carrots, it's even better.
  4. Mix minced meat, herbs, salt, rice and carrots. Add one chicken egg.
  5. After which you will need to roll the minced meat into meatballs. They are the same size as tangerines, maybe a little larger. I put these meatballs in the refrigerator for an hour - the minced meat and other ingredients will cool down, and the meatballs will hold their shape better.
  6. After an hour spent in the refrigerator, you can transfer the meatballs to the steamer rack of the multicooker. The multicooker bowl will need to be filled with 2.5 liters of water. We place a steam grate on top and set it to cook in the “Steamer” mode.
  7. I have an automatic time selection of 40 minutes. This is quite enough for the meatballs to be ready. That's all - tasty and simple, serve with any side dish.

100 grams of boiled rice

1 small onion

fresh or dried herbs

How to cook steamed baby meatballs.

1. Minced meat. I used chicken, but basically anything will do. The main thing is that you must be sure of its quality, since the child’s body is more susceptible to the products, and the minced meat that is sold in stores is made from third-class meat products (bones, sinews, skin, cartilage). Therefore, it will be very good if you take a piece of meat and make minced meat yourself!

2. Boil the rice in advance.

3. Onion. If you are cooking for very young children, then I would advise not to use onions, garlic, salt or any spices at all! If not, then there are two options with onions. Either we grate it on a fine grater and add it raw to the minced meat, or we cut it into small cubes and sauté.

4. In a deep plate, mix the minced meat, rice, egg, onion, garlic, passed through a press, and if the minced meat turns out to be too juicy, then add a couple of tablespoons of flour.

Plus it never hurts to have some greens! It’s better to finely chop fresh, or dried is also suitable.

5. If you have a double boiler, then you cook in it and know how to use it. If not, then take a pan on which it will be convenient to place a colander, pour 1/3 of the water into it and let it boil.

Reduce the heat, place a colander on top and place the minced meat on it in the form of small balls, cover with a lid and wait until it is cooked. On average, one batch of meatballs will take about 30 minutes to cook. (20 minutes on one side and 10 on the other). So you should make sure to start preparing in advance. The main thing is to make sure that the water does not boil away.

6. These meatballs don’t look very good, but they are healthy and tasty! For a side dish, I usually cook buckwheat or mashed potatoes.

How to make steamed meatballs

Hello, readers, subscribers and just random visitors! Today I wanted cook meatballs. I tried steaming meatballs several times, and I liked this dish because it did not cause heartburn. Yes, age takes its toll, and tomato for me is not only tasty, but also dangerous))).

In principle, the difference between the traditional recipe and my processed one is small, so preparing homemade steamed meatballs will not cause any difficulties for anyone. Begin?

How to steam meatballs

First, a list of products for those who don’t know how to cook meatballs. Here he is:

As you can see, there is nothing complicated or unusual here. Unusual – how to cook meatballs with rice in my performance. Although, maybe I’m wrong, and many people cook this way. In general, let's start with rice - I pour boiling water over it and wait for it to swell. This task usually takes 30-40 minutes. During this time I change the water 2 times.

While the rice is swelling, I prepare the frying. You say - what about heartburn? The fact is that I just sauté the onions and carrots a little, literally 5-7 minutes, that’s all. I beat the eggs into the minced meat and mix. You can immediately add salt and pepper.

The rice has already swollen, you can discard it through a colander and add it to the minced meat. For steaming meatballs I use a mesh metal colander - it is specially designed for this, it is convenient to place it in a pan of boiling water.

While the water in the pan is boiling, I put the frying pan on the fire and start frying the meatballs in vegetable oil. It is necessary to fry only so that this lump of minced meat is held together and does not fall apart when steamed. That is, we fry it a little too.

The meatballs are steamed for 10 minutes, and after that I transfer them to another pan, where I add the prepared frying and simmer all the meatballs until completely cooked.

After all the minced meat has turned into fried and steamed meatballs, I put the pan with the meatballs and frying on the fire.

The meatballs are stewed for about half an hour. Don't forget to add a little water to the bottom of the pan - 250-300 grams. Since the rice is not fully cooked, it will absorb all the water during the stewing process.

I don't add tomato at all. So my delicious and stomach-friendly steamed meatballs are ready!

If you made them with me - bon appetit! In the next publication I will tell you how I fry hake in batter.
