Ingredients:

For 2 servings:

  • 5-6 medium-sized potatoes;
  • 100 g hard cheese;
  • 3 tbsp. sour cream;
  • 1-2 cloves of garlic;
  • 1 tsp dried basil.

How to cook potatoes with cheese in the oven:

We peel the potatoes, wash them and cut them into circles about 0.5 cm thick. For this dish, I try to choose tubers of the same size and type (preferably oblong). In this case, the sliced ​​potatoes come out relatively uniform and look more appetizing than if the circles were of different diameters.

Since we plan to have boiled potatoes baked in the oven with cheese and sour cream, we boil the potatoes in salted water for 5 minutes. Drain the water and cool the potatoes slightly.

Grease the baking dish with a small amount of vegetable oil. Place potato mugs in one layer.

Three cheeses on a coarse grater. Combine cheese with sour cream, basil and garlic, passed through a garlic press.

Mix cheese, sour cream and spices with a spoon. You should get a fairly thick mass.

We spread the cheese mixture on the potatoes, then put another layer of potato circles, and again the cheese mixture. I got three layers of potatoes and, accordingly, three layers of cheese mass. Depending on the shape and the number of servings, you may end up with more or fewer layers. The main thing is that in the end the cheese mass should be the last layer.

Cover the pan with foil and place in the oven, preheated to 220 degrees, for 20 minutes.

Then remove the pan from the oven and remove the foil. Potatoes with cheese in the oven will be almost ready, but will not brown at all.

Therefore, we send the form back to the oven, but without foil. After 10-15 minutes, an appetizing golden crust will appear, and the baked potato with sour cream and cheese will become soft.

If you have a beautiful shape (I, for example, have a ceramic one, very nice and neat), then you can serve it on the table directly in it, garnished with greens. Then everyone will take as much as they want.
